At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg revealed its long-awaited replacement for the Agera, the Jesko. It's a 1600-horsepower hypercar named after founder Christian von Koenigsegg's father. It looks wild, has a nine-speed transmission with seven clutches, and a claimed top speed of over 300 mph. Just 125 examples will be built, and according to Koenigsegg, they've all been sold. That was quick.
Koenigsegg announced today that every build slot for the new Jesko has been allocated to customers and dealers, with deposits received. According to a press release on the Swedish automaker's site, the first 83 were sold before the car was shown publicly for the first time at Geneva. The remaining 42 cars were sold at the show as the car was on display.
The Jesko will be Koenigsegg's highest-volume car ever, with production at a rate of one car a week beginning around the end of 2020. Customers can choose between two variants: track or top speed.
If you weren't one of the 125 lucky people to secure a build slot, don't worry: Since some of those allocations are going to dealerships, you might still have a chance to purchase a Jesko that way—if you can afford one, that is. Plus, Koenigsegg does have an "affordable" hybrid supercar in the works...
